The Memphis Grizzlies were dealt a tough defeat in Game 1 in their Western Conference Semis clash against the Golden State Warriors. One other blow they took was an injury to key swingman Desmond Bane.

The second-year sharpshooter injured his lower back during the intense 117-116 contest that went down to the very last second. But good news for Grizzlies fans is it looks like it won't be serious enough to keep him out of action for Game 2.

Is Grizzlies star Desmond Bane playing in Game 2 vs. Warriors

According to The Athletic's Anthony Slater, Desmond Bane “questionable” but still “likely to play” for Memphis.

Klay Thompson is listed on the Warriors injury report as probable with right knee soreness. Desmond Bane listed as questionable with lower back soreness. Both appear likely to play, but notable designations.

While Ja Morant took home the Most Improved Player award for the regular season, the Grizzlies star sent over the trophy to teammate Desmond Bane. He did that for a reason.

Bane went from a single-digit scorer during his rookie season with the Grizzlies to scoring nearly 20 points per game for the second seed in the Western Conference. He's been even better in the playoffs, upping his scoring efficiency across the board while taking an even larger role in their offense. Memphis will definitely need him healthy and injury-free in order to have the best chance to beat the Warriors in Game 2.
