It was officially announced on Monday that Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant bagged this year's Most Improved Player award. He was the clear frontrunner for the title and there was little doubt about this win. However, it didn't make the actual announcement any less endearing for Morant and the rest of his teammates.
Towards the end of his team huddle during Monday's practice, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins announced that Morant had just been named as the 2021-22 Most Improved Player of the Year. As expected, Morant had a heartwarming reaction to this epic moment (h/t Memphis Grizzlies on Twitter):

You can see at the start of the video that Desmond Bane was already clutching the trophy and was hiding behind one of his teammates. Morant himself picked Bane as his MIP for this season, so Desmond handing over the award to Ja is a very nice touch.
Morant did not make a speech nor has he taken to Twitter to share his reaction to winning the title. However, I'm pretty sure that he's going to give a lot of credit to his Grizzlies teammates for this title. After all, Ja Morant is the embodiment of a selfless team player. This is one of the biggest reasons my Memphis has found so much success this season.
