No Ja Morant, no problem. The Memphis Grizzlies proved on Wednesday night that they can find success without their superstar point guard as they blew out the Warriors in the first half of their Game 5 showdown in Memphis.
The Grizzlies entered the half with an astounding 27-point lead after dropping 77 points in the first two quarters of action. Both turned out as playoff records for Memphis (h/t ESPN Stats & Info on Twitter):
The Grizzlies' 77 points are the most they have scored in any half in their playoff history. 27 points are their largest point margin in a half in a playoff game all-time.
Memphis' 25 points off turnovers are the most by any team in the 1st half over the last 25 postseasons.

Talk about a ruthless demolition job, right? Not even the fact that they were missing their superstar point guard discouraged the Grizzlies. As a matter of fact, Morant's absence could have lit a fire under them. Memphis knew that their season was on the line in Game 5 and they just weren't going to go down without a fight.
The Grizzlies continued to pour it on in the second half and they ended up blowing out the Warriors, 134-95. What a game.
