Ja Morant recently caught wind of the current frontrunners for this season's Defensive Player of the Year award and he's not liking it one bit. In his mind, the Memphis Grizzlies superstar firmly believes that his teammate, Jaren Jackson Jr., should, at the very least, be in the conversation for the DPOY title.

Morant was not shy about sharing his thoughts as he came out with a not-so-pleasant message on Twitter:

Morant even supported his claim with some statistical facts pointing out how his Grizzlies teammate has been so dominant on the defensive end this season:

Does Ja Morant have a point here? Jaren Jackson Jr. is by no means a household name and he's not exactly the most marketable pick for the DPOY award. Is his lack of nationwide popularity something that is going against him?

One thing we can say for sure is that the Grizzlies have emerged as one of the best teams in the NBA this season. They're looking like a legitimate threat in the Western Conference as well. What cannot be denied is the fact that this team would not be where they are right now had it not been for Jackson's heroics on the defensive end. Ja Morant is playing at an MVP level right now but even he himself knows that credit must be given to where it is due.
