Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant sustained another knock on Thursday as his team suffered a 119-114 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Morant had to exit in the third quarter due to a hip problem, but he was eventually able to return to close out the game.
After the narrow defeat, Morant attempted to shed some light on his most recent injury. According to the Grizzlies point guard, it was just a minor issue (h/t Grizzly Bear Blues on Twitter):
Ja Morant on what happened with that injury: A bad step that led to pain in his hip. Had to get it stretched out, then came back out to battle with his teammates and try to get a win

That's great to hear. However, there's no denying that the rigors of the season are slowly taking their toll on Ja Morant. As a 22, his body is still able to recover quickly from these minor injuries, but the Grizzlies will need to be very careful with their prized superstar here, especially since they're hoping to go on an extended run in the playoffs this term.
Morant finished Thursday's loss with 20 points on a subpar 7-of-25 shooting from the field. He also added eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block in 35 minutes of play.
It doesn't sound like this hip issue will sideline Morant, so he should be good to go on Saturday when Memphis visits the red-hot DeMar DeRozan and his Chicago Bulls.
