Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant sent out a bold tweet on Sunday about this year’s March Madness. Morant, who starred for Murray State, said he would’ve been part of the Final Four if he played with this year’s competition.

Not sure if that was a knock on the teams this year or Morant was just proclaiming how good he was during his college days.

The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year indeed has bragging rights for the way he played for Murray State as he was a consensus First Team All-American as a sophomore in 2019 after averaging 24.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 10.0 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. He was also the first NCAA player ever to tally 20 points and 10 assists an outing in a single season.

Murray State missed the NCAA Tournament this year.

After raising his stock, Morant declared for the NBA Draft. He did not disappoint in his first year, averaging 17.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 7.3 assists. He also almost led the Grizzlies to the NBA Playoffs but they sadly lost to Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, and the rest of the Portland Trail Blazers for the final spot in the Western Conference.

Early this season, Morant suffered an ankle injury that kept him sidelined for eight games. Still, he's managed to slightly up his averages with 19.0 points, 7.4 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game.

The Grizzlies are currently 10th in the Western Conference with a record of 19-20. They won two of their past three games against the Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors. Ja Morant and company will host the Boston Celtics on Monday
