Marc Gasol faced another wave of questions regarding rumors surrounding his potential trade situation, after doing so throughout the week and noting there was a conversation with the front office surrounding the matter.

The Memphis Grizzlies big man had previously explained that he would always have a strong link to the city of Memphis, regardless of what takes place before the trade deadline, but as far as conversations go, it's all up to the front office.

“You guys can ask all the questions you want to, and I’ll answer them happily, but the guys you should be asking questions to are the guys that are upstairs,” said Gasol, according to Omari Sankofa II of The Athletic. “You guys may know more than we do.”

Gasol isn't wrong here. Neither he nor Mike Conley Jr. will have any input on where they are traded to, given that neither player has a no-trade clause or a 15-percent kicker to potentially waive before a swap becomes official.

The Grizzlies will be forced to make the best move for the organization and select the package that makes the most sense, while making a concerted effort in moving Chandler Parsons' unwanted contract.

Other pieces like JaMychal Green are likely to pop up in trade conversations, but neither star player has a clue of what permutations will be worked on during trade conversations.

The front office reached out to Gasol and Conley in efforts to be transparent, but that has only resulted in an onslaught of questions from the media and potentially a dip in value, as every team now is keenly aware they're clear sellers approaching the Feb. 7 deadline.
