The NBA season can be daunting for players. It is true that it is something they love. But it can get tiring if one thinks about it 24/7. That's why players have tried to add more spice and variation in their life. And for Marc Gasol of the Memphis Grizzlies, cooking is the way to go.

In an interview with Nick Friedell of ESPN, Gasol noted that cooking is a way from him not to think about basketball:

“That's the reason why I cook, so I don't think about the game”

Gasol took the reporter to the supermarket then to the kitchen to show how he prepares for a meal. As they went from point A to point B, Gasol shared his thoughts on cooking and overall health:

“You want to have protein with healthy fats to restore muscle and all that good stuff.”

Apart from shooting the ball and running around the court, part of their job is to remain in tip-top shape. Several players have their own chefs.

But Marc Gasol seems to be doing alright on his own. He knows exactly what his body needs. He seems to have learned a thing or two from professional nutritionists. Cooking might serve as a stress reliever for Gasol but it is also a means to an end.

“I'm somebody that sets goals, enjoy the preparation and planning and discipline to achieve those goals.”
