New Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins revealed his coaching staff in a press release on Monday, and it included Notre Dame women's assistant coach Niele Ivey.
Ivey, 41, was a former WNBA player, competing for the Indiana Fever, Detroit Shock, and Phoenix Mercury. She played for the Fighting Irish in college before coming back home to her amateur roots in a post-playing coaching career.
Here's what the Grizzlies had to say about Ivey in a statement (via NBA.com):

She earned AP All-America Third Team honors, the first Fighting Irish point guard to be so recognized, and was the recipient of the 2001 Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award as a senior while leading Notre Dame to its first national title. Following her collegiate playing career, the St. Louis native played five seasons in the WNBA before joining Xavier University for two seasons (2005-07) as an administrative assistant on the women’s basketball staff.
Ivey joins six other female coaches in the NBA, including Becky Hammon of the San Antonio Spurs, Jenny Boucek of the Dallas Mavericks, Karen Stack Umlauf of the Chicago Bulls, Natalie Nakase of the Los Angeles Clippers, Kara Lawson of the Washington Wizards, and Cleveland Cavaliers assistant Lindsay Gottlieb.
The other hires on Coach Jenkins' staff are Brad Jones, David McClure, James “Scoonie” Penn, Vitaly Potapenko and Neven Spahija, per the Grizzlies.
