The Memphis Grizzlies may be struggling to win games this season, but they have been very successful the past few years. The franchise has made the playoffs in seven consecutive campaigns, led by Marc Gasol and Mike Conley, who are still both part of the team. The dynamic duo has proven that they co-exist well on the court and have been effective with their roles. That said, they have been consistently playing at a high level whenever they are healthy, resulting to positive results.

Despite how good they are though, they are both not known to be heavy scorers and have never reached the 50-point mark in their careers. In fact, no Grizzlies players has ever done it, making them the team who now owns the longest active streak without a 50-point scorer after Lou Williams ended the L.A. Clippers’ with his career night on Wednesday.

It’s certainly not a negative thing for the Grizzlies, as they have proven that they rely more on balanced scoring to bring them a lot of success. They have also made a name for themselves as a defensive team over the years which led to fans fondly calling Memphis as “Grind City.”

The future of the Grizzlies is unclear at this point. They could opt to bring in more talent to turn their fortunes around, but many believe that going for a full rebuild is the right thing to do for them at this point. That said, they could further prolong the streak, as more young players and shared playing time may be what’s in store for them should they go for the latter.
