The Memphis Grizzlies have signed undrafted Purdue-Ft. Wayne guard John Konchar to a two-way contract.
Per Adrian Wojnaworski of ESPN, the 6-foot-5 guard will be spending some time with the Grizzlies and the Memphis Hustle, the organization's G League affiliate.

Konchar spent four years at Purdue-Fort Wayne. In his senior year, he averaged 19.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 2.0 steals across 34.3 minutes. He also shot 38.1 percent from deep on 4.2 attempts per contest. He was named into 2018-19 All-Summit team.

Scouts have tagged him combo guard and a decent 3-and-D player. It's his playmaking which makes him stand out as he produced 13.3 points per game out of the pick-and-roll last season, which ranked Top 25 among Division 1 players.
In an interview with Bryan Kalbrosky of Hoops Hype a few days before the draft, Konchar shared what he believes he can bring to the NBA floor. He believes that he's a 3-and-D guy and is willing to sacrifice his body to win the game.
“I would say I am a 3-and-D guy. I would take any role any team would want me to play obviously because I’m just trying to get into the NBA. I am a really good defender. Some people might not see it but I think it’s just a lot of effort and I play really hard every single day, every single possession of the game, I’ll dive on the floor and make hard plays. I outplay everyone I play against. I’ll work harder than them off the court. I’d watch game film on the guy I’m playing against and find out their tendencies and take it away.”
Konchar proves to be an interesting pick up for the Grizzlies. Will he turn out to be one of those undrafted prospects who turned out to have a legendary basketball career?
