Washburn went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft but he's certainly a talented player.

An outstanding defender, Washburn earned three All-Defensive team mentions and won Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Year Award as a senior.
Washburn has quite a bit of experience in the G League. The Houston native has served three stints with the Austin Spurs, winning the G League title in April of 2018.
Memphis is currently dealing with injuries on the wing, which is likely the reason why they're interested in Washburn. Forward Kyle Anderson is expected to miss 2-4 weeks with a Grade-2 left ankle sprain and fellow forward Dillon Brooks has been ruled out for the remainder of this season after having surgery to repair a torn ligament in his big toe. The addition of Washburn should help to sure up the ranks in this position.
The Grizzlies (19-24 and 5th in the Southwest Division standings) will be back in action on Tuesday night, when they'll welcome the Milwaukee Bucks to town. Tip-off inside FedExForum is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
