Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley told local reporters on Wednesday he wasn't aware the team was listening to trade offers for him until owner Robert Pera called him.
The Grizzlies currently have the second-worst record in the Western Conference, and it appears the front office in Memphis is finally ready to embark on a rebuild and trade either Mike Conley or center Marc Gasol.
Conley, one of the most professional players in the league, answered all the questions from reporters on Wednesday with class.
“Nah, I haven't been paying attention,” Conley said. “Robert called me yesterday just to make me aware that they were going to go about doing this. So, outside of that, I hadn't really thought about it or heard much about it.”

This is a pretty tough situation for Conley, but he's going to be a pro and give it his all for the Grizzlies until he's either traded or the trade deadline passes.
Conley, who has spent his entire NBA career with Memphis, is averaging 19.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game on the year while shooting 42.2 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from beyond the arc and 84.9 percent from the free-throw line.
Conley is one of the most underrated players in the league. Memphis will probably have more luck trading him over Gasol.
