According to Mike Wallace of Grind City Media, Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley should play on Friday night when the Grizzlies play host to the upstart Brooklyn Nets.

Conley said he was progressing after morning shootaround. Conley has been battling a shoulder injury he suffered against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies are dealing with some internal drama after a postgame meeting ended in a physical altercation between Garrett Temple and Omri Casspi. They are hoping to bounce back with a win on Friday night and put the altercation behind them.

Unfortunately, Memphis has lost eight of their last 10 and their hot start is looking more like a fluke with each passing game. Furthermore, the Brooklyn Nets are one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Brooklyn has won 10 of their last 13 and they are fresh off a victory against Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Grizzlies are heading in the wrong direction while the Nets are soaring to new heights. Of course, Conley is one of the most steady point guards in the league and it would be fitting for him to deliver a calming performance on Friday night. That being said, the Nets will look to push the pace and get Memphis out of its comfort zone.

The Nets are one of the fastest teams in the league while Memphis is one of the slowest. It will be a battle between two teams with very different ideologies. Conley's presence will help the Grizzlies, but it may not be enough to overcome the surging Nets.
