Ja Morant is lighting the NBA on fire this season and his brilliance for the Memphis Grizzlies continued on Monday night. After dropping 46 points over the weekend, Ja one-upped himself with a ridiculous 52 points in a win against the San Antonio Spurs, including several highlight-reel plays. That caught the attention of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who couldn't believe what he was witnessing.

The Grizzlies star was absolutely electric. Not only did he drain an insane mid-air buzzer-beater on a full-court pass from Steven Adams, but Morant also put Jakob Poeltl on a poster with a mind-boggling dunk. Ja set a franchise record in points as well.

Ja has been on a mission in 2021/22, averaging 27.6 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.9 rebounds. That earned him the nod as an All-Star Game starter last month. The Grizzlies are looking like a legitimate contender in the West with a 43-20 record thanks to Morant's brilliance. He's been playing at such a high level that some even believe he should be in the MVP conversation. Not wrong, to be honest.

When you're catching the eye of Patty Mahomes, one of the brightest NFL stars, it's gotta mean something. Keep doing your thing, Ja. These Grizzlies are no joke.
