With reports coming out of New York that the Knicks are ready to give up on second-year point guard Frank Ntilikina, the Memphis Grizzlies have inquired about Ntilikina, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

Along with the Grizzlies, the Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic have also reportedly shown interest in Ntilikina, who is just 20-years-old.

When the Knicks drafted Frank Ntilikina with the eighth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, the franchise was hoping he would be the team’s point guard for the next decade. Ntilikina only averaged 5.9 points and 3.2 assists during his rookie season. After an offseason of getting stronger and used to NBA competition, the prevailing thought was that the 20-year-old point guard would take the next step during his sophomore campaign.

That hasn’t been the case at all, as Frank Ntilikina is shooting worse this season than he did last year. He's averaging just 5.9 points per game this season and shooting 33.3 percent from the field and 25.7 percent from beyond the arc. There have been five games this season where Ntilikina hasn't scored a single point.

The Grizzlies have Mike Conley as their starting point guard and Shelvin Mack as the backup. Ntilikina is a good defender, so he would fit Memphis' system a lot better than the Knicks'.
