The rumor mill is pouring in with potential trade scenarios as teams across the league prepare for the 2022 NBA Draft. After being one of the best teams in the Western Conference, it sounds like the Memphis Grizzlies are prepared to make a big move. Especially considering, the latest rumors are they're interested in the fourth overall pick belonging to the Sacramento Kings.
Memphis has shown interest in moving up in the NBA Draft, however, it sounds like the front office has a big move in mind. According to Marc Stein, “the Grizzlies are among the teams that have indeed tried to get into the mix for Sacramento's No. 4 pick — which is coveted by a number of teams to be able to draft Purdue's Jaden Ivey.” If that's the case, the front office might be looking to deal away a key player to acquire the prolific prospect.
Two names as potential trade candidates are Brandon Clarke and Dillon Brooks. Both players were vital in the Grizzlies' success through the regular season, however, the thought of Ja Morant and Jaden Ivey sharing a backcourt is incredibly enticing. This would be a massive move and the Kings would likely benefit from acquiring either player to their roster.

After falling short in the playoffs, the Grizzlies must do everything they can to improve the roster. Although Dillon Brooks is a great defender, he lacks the offensive prowess to help his team down the stretch. Additionally, Desmond Bane has shown elite skills as a perimeter defender while being a consistent scoring option.
With that in mind, don't rule out a big deal between the Grizzlies and Kings. If Memphis can acquire Jaden Ivey without depleting the core of the roster, the front office should highly consider pulling the trigger. Look for the 2022 NBA Draft to be jam-packed on Thursday night.
