With the NBA Draft just three weeks away, it has been ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Murray State freshman point guard Ja Morant will be out of action for around a month following a minor knee procedure.
ESPN Sources: Point guard Ja Morant — the projected No. 2 pick in the June NBA Draft — will undergo a minor scope on his right knee to remove a “loose body” on Monday. He’s expected to be fully recovered in 3-to-4 weeks.

While this does not come at an ideal time for the projected No. 2 overall pick, this should have no effect on his current draft stock. The Memphis Grizzlies will be picking second, and this recent development does not look to have any impact on their desire to scoop up the highly-rated guard.
As indicated by Wojnarowski, Morant is expected to fully recover in three to four weeks' time, so he should be ready to go come the season opener.

Morant is a very talented scoring guard who blew up in the recent NCAA tournament. His amazing performances caused his stock to skyrocket all the way to the No. 2 spot in the upcoming NBA Draft, coming second only to the prodigy that is Zion Williamson.
In fact, there were even some whispers that some teams were seriously looking at the prospect of picking Morant over Williamson in the draft. While Morant's talent is indeed unquestionable, the truth is that it would be unforgivable for any team to pass on Zion. The Duke standout is a once-in-a-generation type of talent, and nothing else — not even Morant — should matter for any team that had the chance of signing Williamson. In this case, it's going to be the New Orleans Pelicans, and it would be the shock of the century if they let Zion slip through their grip.
The NBA Draft will take place on Thursday, June 20.
