The Memphis Grizzlies appear to be intent on getting what they want in a potential trade for veteran swingman Jae Crowder. The 29-year-old has piqued the interest of several teams, but as reported by Zach Lowe of ESPN, the Grizzlies have no intention of settling for anything less than a first-round pick for Crowder.

The Grizzlies have sought a first-round pick from a long list of teams inquiring about Jae Crowder, sources say. I would bet heavy against them getting one; Crowder is shooting 29.7% from deep.

It's interesting how Lowe himself seems to believe that Memphis is aiming too high and that they may have priced themselves out of the market. Crowder will definitely present himself as a valuable asset for any contending team, but perhaps very few — if any — will be willing to meet the Grizzlies' hefty price tag.

Crowder is currently averaging 10.1 points (on 36.8 percent shooting), 6.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals, while also knocking down 1.8 triples on a 29.7-percent clip. These are some serviceable numbers, but again, it remains to be seen if there are any teams out there that consider him to be worthy of a first-rounder.

Currently, the Grizzlies are 24-25 and are surprisingly ranked eighth in a ruthless Western Conference.

All signs point to the fact that this team will make a push for a postseason berth this season, which further complicates the team's willingness to part ways with Crowder, who has been a pivotal piece for the squad all year long.
