It was announced on Thursday that the NBA has decided to slap Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks with a one-game suspension for his Flagrant 2 foul on Gary Payton II. Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green learned about the news as he was doing his podcast and he quickly provided his unfiltered reaction to this key development.
Green expressed his agreement with the decision as he heaped praise on the NBA for acting swiftly on this issue:
“I think it's legit,” said the Warriors talisman (h/t Erin Walsh of Bleacher Report). “You get thrown out for a Flagrant 2 and, as I've said, clearly intent doesn't matter anymore. Whether he was intentional or not doesn't really matter to me. But the reality is, Gary Payton II is out for an extended period of time. It was a nasty fall, defenseless player, I get it. … I respect the accountability from the NBA.”

Green did say, however, that he feels this development will not give the Warriors a significant advantage. According to the former Defensive Player of the Year, Brooks was ejected early in Game 2 and the Dubs still lost. This shouldn't change anything in terms of how Golden State approaches Game 3 on Saturday.
