Rose initially suffered the right ankle injury on Dec. 21 against the San Antonio Spurs. The 30-year-old missed one game and then returned versus the Chicago Bulls. Rose's return was short-lived, though, as he tweaked the ankle again on Jan. 28 against the Atlanta Hawks.

He returned to the lineup on Jan. 11 versus the Dallas Mavericks and played in six games, only to tweak the ankle again in Los Angeles versus the Lakers. The Chicago native told reporters he's dealing with a ligament injury, which essentially means Rose is dealing with a bad sprain that is easy to re-aggravate.
Rose is having a great season for the Timberwolves. He's averaging 18.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game while shooting an efficient 48.0 percent from the field, a career-high 41.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 85.4 percent from the free-throw line.
Minnesota is 24-26 on the season, 11th place in the Western Conference standings. They are currently on a two-game losing streak. The Timberwolves host the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. It is unknown if Rose will be able to play.
