Former NBA player Chauncey Billups has been involved in several rumors about possible front-office jobs in the NBA. He reportedly declined an offer from the Cleveland Cavaliers last season and was a candidate for the President of Basketball Operations post for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Billups told Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press that he liked what he saw from the Timberwolves organization. Although he didn't land the job, he still gave his vote of confidence to Gersson Rosas, who got the post.

“I liked the Minnesota situation. They have some good people. I love (owner Glen Taylor) so I was attracted to the situation. Interviewed well, but obviously they went with Gersson Rosas, who was a very good candidate and I’m sure will do a terrific job,” Billups said.

Billups added that he's focused on working in the media right now; however, he pointed out that he will be ready if another team is interested in making him a member of their front office.

“…I’ll stay ready and if an opportunity presents itself, we’ll see. I’ve been really happy doing this TV thing at the moment. I’m hoping to call more games this season and we’ll see how that goes.”

Billups has transitioned well from a well-renowned NBA player to a well-respected businessman after he retired. His NBA journey is far from over, and who knows? He could be the next top executive of your favorite team.

Right now, Mr. Big Shot isn't in a rush. He'll probably just cross the bridge when he gets there.
