After missing Sunday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers due to left ankle soreness, Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose will play Monday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, according to ClutchPoints' Tomer Azarly.
Timberwolves All-Star small forward Jimmy Butler will also return to the lineup. He missed Sunday due to “precautionary rest.”

In seven games this season, Jimmy Butler is averaging 22.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 49.1 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 82.1 percent from the free-throw line. The four-time All-Star still wants to be traded and has been a huge distraction to the team, even if he claims he hasn't been.

Derrick Rose, meanwhile, is averaging 17.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists on the season coming off the Timberwolves' bench. The former MVP is shooting 44.5 percent from the floor, 37.0 percent from the 3-point line and 76.3 percent from the charity stripe.
Rose scored a whopping 50 points last week against the Utah Jazz. He only played four minutes versus the Golden State Warriors the next game, however. Timberwolves head coach and president Tom Thibodeau told reporters that Rose initially tweaked his ankle during the 50-point game.
The Timberwolves enter Monday with a record of 4-6. They are on a two-game losing streak.
