Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose is back in his hometown of Chicago on Wednesday, as the Timberwolves are taking on the Chicago Bulls at the United Center.
Derrick Rose grew up in Englewood, so he's going to have a lot of friends and family at the game. However, the former MVP and Bulls point guard said he wishes he could have brought the whole hood with him to the match.
Rose: “This is home. I’ll never leave Chicago. … Wish I could bring the whole ‘hood here tonight, but only got 50 tickets.” #Bulls

Rose is dealing with left ankle soreness, but the 30-year-old is expected to play against his former team. Rose is averaging 18.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game for Minnesota while shooting an efficient 48.5 percent from the field, 46.9 percent from beyond the arc and 84.2 percent from the free-throw line.
Wednesday will be just the second time in Rose's life that he will be playing at the United Center as a visitor.
Back in 2016 when he made his first trip back to The Windy City as a member of the New York Knicks, Rose finished with 15 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds as the Knickerbockers win 117-104 win. Rose was booed that night by some fans, but given his resurgence and 50-point game this season, he will likely get a lot of cheers on Wednesday.
