There's apparently some animosity between Zone Coverage's Dane Moore and Minnesota Timberwolves center Gorgui Dieng after the Wolves 28-year-old center took offense to Moore's mentioning that league executives have told him it would take two first-round picks to move Dieng's contract in a potential trade.

Dieng has what's perceived to be one of the more bloated contracts in the NBA after he signed a four-year, $62.8 million contract with the Wolves in 2017.

A versatile and athletic big man who can mix it up inside, knock down mid-range jumpers and play solid interior defense, Dieng was disappointing in 2017-18 with averages of 5.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game, coming off the bench throughout the season as former Chicago Bulls power forward Taj Gibson took his role in the starting lineup.

After averaging 10.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals in the two years prior, the Timberwolves were likely expecting Dieng to continue that production, but those numbers came with him as a starter.

Without adding incentives, there's no feasible way to move Dieng's contract with him producing numbers similar to the way he did last season. However, while that's not ideal for the franchise, it's the situation they find themselves in after trading for Gibson.
