The Minnesota Timberwolves are ready to move on from Jimmy Butler. Jeff Teague is one player who believes the team must move forward, but he doesn't see many other options. Teague said via Chris Hine of the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

“We got no choice, right? We have to go out there and jell as fast as we can and see what happens.”

It's hard to see any other way at this point. Despite Tom Thibodeau's best efforts to keep Butler in Minnesota for at least one more season, the cat is out of the bag. Butler won't play another game with Minnesota, so the players who are on the court need to come together.

As Teague says, they need to develop chemistry as quick as possible and see what happens. Even without knowing the type of return Butler will bring, the Timberwolves will still have eyes on a playoff spot. Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best big men in the league and should be motivated to prove that he can carry the team. Additionally, Andrew Wiggins is collecting a big salary to be a cornerstone of the franchise.

Not to mention, Thibodeau's time as president could be coming to a close after the Butler debacle, and his job at head coach is anything but safe. Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor could easily decide to move in a new direction if the 2018-19 season is a disappointment, though Thibodeau has actually been calm despite all the drama.
