Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau is known to giving a lot[tps_header][/tps_header] of playing minutes to his stars. But it's not always a good thing as Jimmy Butler had an NSFW reaction to playing 41 minutes during their recent loss against the Sacramento Kings.

The Athletic's Sam Amick had an exclusive interview with Butler, including his comment on playing heavy minutes early this season.

SA: You played 41 minutes tonight…

Jimmy Butler: That shit has to stop.

Why?

Jimmy Butler: We’ve got fucking 14 other guys.

Indeed, 41 minutes in a regular season game could prove to be too much even for a superstar like Butler. While he reiterates that he won't mind playing that much minutes in a winning effort, Butler also tells Amick that the team also has to let everyone contribute to the cause.

“Yeah, we’ve got fucking guys who can play. We’ve got to instill confidence in everybody. I think my confidence is high enough. I want all my guys to be successful, man. I want all these guys to play. Is that a convo (with Thibodeau) that I’ve got to have? Yeah, and then everybody wants to talk about how the motherfucker’s not healthy [he said of himself]. Well God damn, we’re playing 41, 43, 44 (minutes per game), it takes a toll on top of all the work that I do that don’t nobody even see. We’ll fix it. We’ll do something. We’ll talk.”

Jimmy Butler is averaging a team-high in minutes played with 36.1 per game. However, has missed three games this season due to vague reasons of ‘general soreness' in his body.

Despite all that, Butler is still playing All-Star quality basketball when he is on the court. The four-time All-Star is putting up averages of 21.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists this year.
