USA Basketball has officially announced its 14-player training camp roster for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers. The training camp begins this week and will be used to determine the final 12-man roster for a pair of qualifying games later this month.
The team is composed of both G League and NBA players. Former Houston Rockets and New York Knicks head coach Jeff Van Gundy will be at the helm of this ship. His basketball knowledge will help notable names like Charlotte Hornets guard Dwayne Bacon, NBA veteran guard Jordan Crawford, Sacramento Kings guard Frank Mason III, San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White and Detroit Pistons forward Henry Ellenson prepare to perform on this big stage.
Article Continues BelowG League players Jameel Warney and Reggie Hearn are returning players to qualifying action. The rest of the roster includes Bryce Alford, V.J. Beachem, Isaiah Hicks, Dakari Johnson, Ben Moore, Chasson Randle and Travis Trice.
International experience has been instrumental in the development of many NBA stars over the years. Each player will look to thrive on the world stage and bring new knowledge and poise back to their respective teams. While none of these players will be playing in the 2019 FIBA World Cup, this will still be a valuable experience for them.
