Following their loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night, the New Orleans Pelicans received even more bad news.

Their star forward and leader, Anthony Davis, reportedly had x-rays done to check for any structural damage on his right foot. He was seen hobbling early in the first quarter and had treatment done on it while on the bench.

The 23-year-old Kentucky product denied it and said he is fine.

Should Davis miss some games due to the injury, it will be a huge blow to the Pelicans who are currently struggling for consistency as they await for their roster to become completely healthy. Their 7-14 record is currently ranked 12th in the tough Western Conference and without him, the team will have a hard time looking for someone who can provide the incredible numbers he's producing so far.

Davis leads the league in points with 31.5 and blocks with 2.7 a game and is playing at an elite level this year as he looks to bounce back from a frustrating 2015-2016 campaign where he was forced to miss a career-high 21 games.

The New Orleans faithful are hoping that the x-rays done are just purely speculation and standard procedure at best should it be true.

It will be interesting to see if he plays in their next game on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies and if his mobility will be hampered.
