Anthony Davis is having a monster start to the season. His numbers are insane and has been as consistent as one could wish.
The only problem? New Orleans is at the bottom of the league-wide standings.
It’s easy to chalk up the atrocious start to the absence of key starters Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans, but when you’re building up a young team, instilling the proper mindset is essential, and settling is out of the question.
Pelicans swingman Solomon Hill understands that and shared his thoughts to William Guillory of NOLA.com.

You can throw assistant coaches out there on the floor and as long as they get him the ball he's going to score. We just got to find ways to do it collectively.”
It truly is a concern for coach Alvin Gentry and his staff. Outside of Davis’ 31.3 points per game average, the team’s second leading scorer is already E’Twaun Moore who logs in only 12.5 points per game.
The Pelicans need to be more creative and people have to step up before they see themselves in a hole that’s already too deep to crawl up from even if they get back to full health.
Young talents such as Buddy Hield and Terrence Jones are only waiting for a more defined role in order for them to settle in, and the onus is on the coaching staff to make the most out of the ragtag support crew at hand.
