New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis will not see action for his team when they go up against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday at the Golden 1 Center in California.
The Pelicans announced that Davis is out against the Kings due to back spasms. The 26-year-old superstar has not played for the Pelicans since their 113-90 loss to the Houston Rockets on March 24 at home.

It remains to be seen whether or not Davis will play in their final regular season game, which will be against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. If he sits out again, fans might not see Davis again playing in a Pelicans jersey, as he will likely be traded in the offseason.
Anthony Davis, the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, requested for a trade from the Pelicans early this season. He was linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, and the two teams sat down for a possible trade before the deadline in February. However, the LA and NOLA failed to find a common ground before the deadline.
It remains to be seen whether or not the Lakers will pursue Davis again this summer, considering how they viewed New Orleans' sincerity during their negotiation. But even if the Purple and Gold opt not to chase the former Kentucky standout, the Pelicans will not have a shortage of suitors for his service.
The Boston Celtics are also expected to position themselves among the favorites to land Davis. They have young players and picks to offer to the Pelicans in a possible trade this summer. Davis' value is still very high despite the turmoil this season, as he still averaged 25.9 points and 12.0 rebounds on top of 3.9 assists per game.
