New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis is among the few elite players which general managers across the league are dreaming of acquiring. Davis is aware of how interested other teams are in him, but he’s not sweating any rumors. Instead, he’s focused on helping the franchise he’s currently committed, a stance he made clear in an interview with Marc J. Spears of ESPN’s The Undefeated.

“You hear all the rumors. You hear all the talk. But it's not coming from me. I'm here to be a Pelican, help this team move forward and help this team win a championship.”
Anthony Davis won’t be a free agent until 2021. That’s assuming he won’t sign an extension deal with the Pelicans. It’s fair to say that New Orleans wants to keep Davis beyond 2021, which is also why what the versatile frontcourt piece just divulged to Spears can be considered as music to the ears of the Pelicans’ front office and fans.
However, nothing is set in stone in terms of Davis’ future plans. There have been constant rumors of him going to either the Los Angeles Lakers or the Los Angeles Clippers, and it’ll continue to be one of the hot topics going forward.
But for now, Davis’ focus is on spearheading the Pelicans, who are looking to go deeper in the playoffs than they did last season when they got bounced out of the second round by the Golden State Warriors.
