In his first full season with the New Orleans Pelicans, All-Star big man DeMarcus Cousins is putting together a career-best campaign.
According to TBLegend7 on Reddit, the 27-year-old is currently the only player that is inside the top 20 statistically across the board.
- 28.2 points per game (4th)
- 14.0 rebounds per game (2nd)
- 5.8 assists per game (19th)
Additionally, he is top 20 in steals and blocks per game.
- 1.6 steals per game (16th)
- 1.6 blocks per game (10th)
Cousins is currently averaging career highs in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. He is also the only player in the league to be averaging 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. Cousins leads the league with 13 double-doubles along with 10 20-point outings and six 30-point performances.
The All-Star big man is also the first player in franchise history to record two 20-point, 20-rebound games over a five-game span and the third player to do so since the start of the 2016-17 season; joining Andre Drummond and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Cousins has also earned Western Conference Player of the Week from Oct. 23- 29; averaging 36.3 points on .544 shooting from the floor, 16.0 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks.
His production has been one of the strong reasons why the Pelicans sit at an 8-6 record, which is tied for the fifth-best mark in the Western Conference, including winning five out of the last six games that have propelled them to a promising start.
