On his recent podcast, New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard JJ Redick told a hilarious story about his wife trolling him about possibly never winning an NBA title.
Redick, who missed the playoffs in 2019-20 for the first time in his NBA career, says his wife told him about ninth months ago that maybe he's not meant to win a championship, although she was singing a different tune in 2015 when Stephen Curry won his first ring with the Golden State Warriors.

“My wife about nine months ago said to me: ‘Maybe you're just not meant to win a championship,' ” JJ Redick said this week on his ‘The Old Man & the Three' podcast. “I didn't think that was a great thing for her to say [laughter].
“In 2015, when Steph [Curry] and the Warriors won for the first time, she said to me after the game, ‘We need to get you one. You gotta win one. I want you to experience that.'
“But we're later on in our lives. We got a 6-year-old and a 4-year-old. She's thinking about other things now [laughter].”
JJ Redick is probably not going to win a title with the Pelicans. The sharpshooter, who has one year left on his deal with New Orleans, could be a valuable asset to a contender since he's one of the best shooters in the NBA.

That's production every elite team in the NBA needs, especially in the playoffs.
If Redick is back with the Pelicans next season, he'll be playing for a different coach, as New Orleans fired Alvin Gentry.
