New Orleans Pelicans veteran point guard Jrue Holiday was in a pretty feisty mood at the end of Thursday's huge victory against the Los Angeles Clippers, 132-127. Following an outstanding performance against the Clippers, the former All-Star took a shot at his critics by calling out their inability to recognize his capabilities as a player.

Holiday caught fire against L.A., going off for a season-high 36 points on 13-of-24 shooting, along with five 3-pointers, four rebounds, seven assists, six steals, and one block. The 29-year-old did turn the ball over six times, but this does very little to diffuse what was otherwise a truly tremendous explosion from the 6-foot-3 guard.

Holiday's heroics proved to be enough to spoil the much-awaited debut of Paul George for the Clippers, which actually went pretty well, considering how the six-time All-Star logged 33 points, three 3-pointers, nine rebounds, and four assists in just 24 minutes played. George obviously showed no rust after missing his team's first 11 games of the season.

It has been a relatively slow start to the new season for Holiday, who is currently averaging 17.0 points on a career-low 39.3-percent shooting clip thus far. The veteran has been thrust into a much more central role for his team following former cornerstone superstar, Anthony Davis' summer exit from New Orleans. Holiday appears to be more than willing to take on the challenge, and hopefully for him, Thursday's explosion serves to kick start what should be a dominant year ahead for the former UCLA standout.
