One man who has been relatively out of the spotlight over the past few months is LaVar Ball. However, the Ball family patriarch appears to be trying his very best to gain as much attention as he possibly can with his recent statement pertaining to the New Orleans' Pelicans chances of winning the NBA title this season.

The cameras of TMZ Sports recently caught up with the 51-year-old, and according to Ball, he has no doubt that the Pelicans — led by his son, Lonzo Ball — will go all the way to lift the title by the end of this season:

“They're gonna take it all this year, for sure,” he stated.

LaVar went on to say that this belief is primarily brought about by how he thinks his son, Lonzo, will be a much better fit for his new team, as compared to his previous role with the Los Angeles Lakers:

“All you need to be successful in the NBA, ya gotta have a coach be behind you. And, Alvin Gentry is that guy… What did Gentry say? He wants [The Pelicans] to play the fastest pace. That's Lonzo's best game!

“You've got a bunch of youngsters so you don't have 20 different people asking for the ball. Give it to Lonzo and let him just run it.”

LaVar also discussed the prospect of his son playing alongside rookie sensation Zion Williamson:

“If you gonna run and pass the ball and play the right way, Zo will play with anybody. So, it's not that Zion is better than Lebron or Lebron is better … anybody with an IQ that can play the game of basketball, [Lonzo's] fine playing with.”

Despite their recent move to a smaller market, it is obvious that LaVar has not lost one bit of his Hollywood-level confidence.
