For the first time in his life, Lonzo Ball won't be playing for a Californian basketball team. After being traded by the Los Angeles Lakers to the New Orleans Pelicans over the summer, Ball will now be representing a different state.

One would imagine the difficult adjustments that he's had to make. However, Ball admitted that the transition was relatively easy thanks to the city and the coaches.

“It's been pretty easy. The coaches are great, my teammates are cool and the people in town, they love us. So I'm here just trying to do my part,” Ball said, per Pelicans reporter Jim Eichenhofer.

For those who have followed Ball's basketball career, he has always represented the state of California. He attended high school at Chino Hills then went on to UCLA for college. After one year in college, he was drafted by the Lakers where he played two seasons.

Most Californians thought that Ball would be a Laker for life. After all, when LeBron James joined the team, the two seemingly had that innate chemistry going on. During their one season as teammates, Ball and James operated seamlessly on pick-and-rolls.

Nonetheless, as every single NBA fan knows, permanence is only a myth in the league. The Lakers went on a different direction and had to trade Ball away. But who knows, maybe in the future, Ball will represent the city of angels once again.
