After failing to make the playoffs for the second straight year, New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson is gearing up for a big offseason.
The Pelicans youngster wants to win, and for him, the key is his partnership with Brandon Ingram. With that said, he revealed his plan to work with his fellow forward in the next few months in order to develop their chemistry further.
“At the end of the day, me and Brandon both share the same goals – winning. Me and Brandon are going to get together a lot this offseason and talk about what we need to do and work out together. Like I said, the reality is we want to win. We have to put in the work,” Williamson said, per Andrew Lopez of ESPN.

Sure enough, the Pelicans have one of the most promising young duos in the NBA in Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. They have both been All-Stars even before reaching 25, so there is reason to believe they could be the most dangerous one-two punch in the league sooner rather than later.
Zion's plan to spend his offseason working with BI will definitely benefit the Pelicans. After all, the faster they get the two clicking and understanding how each other plays, the quicker they'll be able to get to playoff and title contention. Williamson played only 24 games in his rookie season due to injury, and he didn't get much time to practice with Ingram this 2020-21 due to the condensed schedule.
The Pelicans are so close to making the play-in this 2020-21, finishing 11th in the West. Next season, though, they could very well be competing for the higher seeds with two athletic freaks leading the way. Watch out, NBA.
