For New Orleans Pelicans coach Stan Van Gundy, their win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday is their best game so far as a team. But from an individual perspective, Van Gundy also heaped praises on Zion Williamson's performance.

Per Will Guillory of The Athletic, Van Gundy felt the Pelicans put on a great effort in their convincing 123-103 victory over the Suns. Seven Pelicans finished with double digits in scoring led by Williamson's 28 points on 12-of-14 shooting. He also had seven rebounds and six assists. Brandon Ingram was right behind him with 23 points, while Lonzo Ball chipped in 18 markers.

The win marked the Pelicans' third victory in their last five games, improving their win-loss slate to 8-12, although they're still second to the last in the Western Conference.

The Pelicans limited the Suns to just 46.3 percent from the field and 22.9 percent from downtown. They, on the other hand, shot 51.1 percent from the floor, largely due to Williamson's marksmanship, and 42.4 percent from deep. They also forced the Suns to 15 turnovers. While the game was tight in the first half, the Pelicans ran away after halftime and led by as much as 28 points.

After being limited to just 18 games in his rookie campaign due to injuries, a fully healthy Williamson has been impressive in his second year. Before their game against the Suns, he was putting up 23.7 points on 59.4 percent shooting, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals. Not to mention rim-rattling highlights.

Zion Williamson and the Pelicans could carry their momentum when they take on the Indiana Pacers on Friday.
