Before the New Orleans Pelicans face the Chicago Bulls, super rookie Zion Williamson was imagining what the atmosphere was like in United Center when Michael Jordan was still playing.

Per Andrew Lopez of ESPN, Williamson couldn't help but imagine what the feeling was when the greatest basketball player of all time was lighting it up every night in the United Center.

“At shootaround, I thinking, man, what was it like when Jordan was playing here? That must have been crazy.”

Zion Williamson, who's just 19-years-old, wasn't even born when Jordan was at the height of his career while donning the Bulls jersey. But there is no doubt that the Duke standout has watched all the tapes of Jordan in his prime years. Fans at the United Center were treated to scoring outbursts, game-winners, top-notch defensive plays, and tons of victories. Let's not forget about the two 3-peats that Jordan concocted with Scottie Pippen and the rest of the crew.

It only goes to show that Williamson has so much respect for the players that came before him. Countless analysts have compared Zion Williamson to the likes of Charles Barkley and even LeBron James. While Williamson has downplayed such comparisons noting that he's out there to play his own style, he's probably thrilled to be mentioned in the same sentence with such great athletes.

In his first seven games as a pro, Zion Williamson has showcased why he was the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He's averaging 19.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. There are no doubts about his capabilities. Now, it's just a matter of locking in wins and achieving that consistency. Sooner or later, Williamson will earn his place as one of the game's greats.
