Brandon Jennings says he's as hungry as he's ever been.
That's a good thing because the new-look New York Knicks are looking to make it back to the playoffs after missing out the past three years.
Jennings comes in as the backup point guard behind Derrick Rose. He should be able to fit in well in that role providing some scoring punch of the pine.
Jennings has never really played for a winner and now, entering his eighth season in the league, it's all about winning in New York.
“At the end of the day, right now I just want to win, man. I just want to be in a winning environment,” Jennings, whose teams have won 45 percent of the games he's played in, told Donahue. “I’m in the biggest market, the greatest basketball city, the Mecca, so who cares [about coming off the bench]? Let’s just win. We win, the whole city loves us.”

As for the playoffs? Jennings doesn't want to just make it to the postseason.
“Playoffs is good, but just making the first round isn’t good enough,” he said. “So I’m going to go out on a limb and put a little more pressure on us. If we make the playoffs, we’ve got to get out of the first round.”
These hopes are actually more realistic than we're used to hearing from athletes. Rose called the Knicks a “super team” over the summer. A berth in the second round of the Eastern Conference might surprise some, but it's not too much of a long shot.
The additions this summer should put New York in better position to make a run to the postseason if everyone stays healthy. Rose, Jennings, Joakim Noah and Courtney Lee are good gets and alongside Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis, may make the Knicks a threat in the playoffs.
Time will tell.
