With still 4:44 left in the second quarter of the game between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks on Friday night, Carmelo Anthony was assessed with two technical fouls by referee Tony Brothers which led to his ejection from the game.
Speaking to reporters after the game, the nine-time All-Star tried to explain why he thinks he got ejected that quickly but he said he really does not quite understand the situation between him and Brothers.
“I always feel it's something. Every time we … I don't want to say it's personal, but I always feel like it's something.”
“I didn't think [Friday] night it called for a tech or an ejection at that point of time. I really don't know what to say about the situation.”
“One, I don't feel I said anything on getting a tech — and two — getting ejected.”
But Anthony's wife, La La, took to Twitter and shared her belief on why her husband received the ejection given by Brothers.

When asked if he had any words for the veteran referee, Anthony kept mum on the situation and only had this to say:
“There's nothing for me to say to him. It ain't personal with me from my end. I don't have anything to say to him. He's a ref. I play. I'll keep my mouth shut next time.”
This will not be the last time the two will cross paths and it will be interesting to see how Anthony and Brothers will react when they see each other again.
