After being selected as the top overall pick in the 2008 draft, Derrick Rose showed the basketball world his unique skill set and quickly became one of the best players in the NBA.

During his third year, the 6-foot-3 point guard had his best season as a professional, where he became the youngest MVP winner in league history. Rose had a very bright future and was the undisputed leader of the Chicago Bulls back then. However, despite his early success, he was not able to sustain the momentum as he suffered multiple knee injuries that have kept him sidelined for the most part of the last four seasons.

This year has been different so far for him. After getting traded during the summer to the New York Knicks, Rose thought of it as a fresh start and a chance to resurrect his career. He has remained healthy and played through the first 20 games of the season without suffering any injury. It is considered a rarity for him as the last time he had done that was back in 2009.

Rose is playing at a high level once again and is currently averaging 17.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. More importantly, he has proven that he can co-exist with the Knicks' star forward Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis.

He may have missed a game due to a sore back, but it's something not serious and the team only took a cautious approach on his ailment. If Rose can continue his solid play and remain healthy as the season progresses, the Knicks may very well make to it to the playoffs after four years. With a healthy Derrick Rose running the plays for the team, it won't be impossible to achieve.
