Monday marked 43 days until the start of the NBA regular season and ESPN took the liberty to give New York Knicks fans a harsh reminder.
Despite all the competitive teams they put out during the 90's, it has been 43 years since the Knicks last won a championship.
43 Days until NBA Tip Off:

It's been 17 miserable years for the city that never sleeps, failing to make a splash since the 1998-99 playoffs when Allan Houston took an eight-seeded New York team to upset the one-seeded Miami Heat and onto the NBA Finals. Ultimately, that Knicks team fell 4-1 to San Antonio in the title round.
The last Knicks team to win it all was the 1972-73 squad that included the likes of Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Earl Monroe, Dave DeBusschere, Bill Bradley, and Jerry Lucas — all Hall-of-Famers.
This year's revamped Knicks do have someone who knows a thing or two about winning championships; team president Phil Jackson was an integral part of the 1972-73 team as a rugged rebounder and defender, and of course coached multiple Bulls and Lakers teams to titles.
Jackson has moved plenty of pieces this offseason, bringing Derrick Rose via trade and signing Joakim Noah, hoping New Yorkers won't have to wait that much longer for a parade.
