The Utah Jazz had a disappointingly short postseason run, falling to the Dallas Mavericks 4-2 in the first round. Now out of the 2022 NBA Playoffs, trade rumors are circulating about one of the Jazz's biggest contributors.
Rumor has it that Donovan Mitchell could be the big name in a blockbuster offseason trade. Multiple different teams have been mentioned as potential suitors for the guard's next place of employment, specifically the New York Knicks. But, who started the conversation? According to Bleacher Report, it was CAA, the agency that represents Mitchell.
The news outlet reports that multiple members of the Jazz organization and “various figures” throughout the NBA “point most directly at CAA for the whispers that seem designed to push Mitchell toward requesting a trade” from the Jazz to the Knicks.

It makes perfect sense that CAA would be behind these trade rumors. Despite Mitchell's personal success in four seasons with the Jazz, the team has yet to produce a season to brag about. If Mitchell requests a trade and the Jazz follow through with it, this would be a huge win for the representative agency.
For now, Mitchell is contractually tied to the Utah franchise for at least three more years. He hasn't publicly announced whether or not he would like to find employment elsewhere this offseason.
