Even with all the uncertainties the New York Knicks are facing this summer, Jeff Hornacek made it known that he is confident Kristaps Porzingis will stay put with the team.
The head coach spoke publicly for the first time since the team's exit interviews last month, and told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News that he has no doubt the Latvian star wants to remain with the franchise. He then shared that they are currently letting the smoke clear for now following their disappointing season, and with Porzingis' well documented frustrations with the team.

“Guys make decisions and live with those decisions. It just would’ve been a good opportunity to talk about what the concerns are moving forward. You can’t do anything about the past. That’s the big thing. Whatever happened and went on, you can’t dwell on it. You got to learn from it and make the proper adjustments to move forward. Again it’s a long summer. When you lose it’s always tough. Let it clear. We’ll get back at it here in a little while.”
In two seasons in the NBA, the 7-foot-3 big man has proven that he belongs in the league with his very unique skill set. More importantly for him, he has proven he could be a star someday and even become the Knicks' franchise player should the team ultimately part ways with Carmelo Anthony.
However, there's also no guarantee that Porzingis will be in a Knicks uniform by the start of next season. Phil Jackson and company will have a lot of to decide on come summertime, but the biggest will be whether they want to continue having their current group of players or rebuild for the future.
