New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony once called the hiring of Phil Jackson a power move due to his status in the world of NBA Basketball.

Winning 11 championships is almost an impossible task, but Jackson did it, and that pedigree will always follow him throughout history.

That made the hope that he brought to the Knicks organization understandable, and the hopes of fans were set on seeing better days in the Big Apple.

Three years later, James Dolan is rearing his head again and Jackson, who threatened to dismiss both of his team's star players Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis, ultimately lost his job.

After feeling they'd be once again left in obscurity with those moves, Knicks fans are now unashamedly celebrating on social media as Jackson is shown the door days before free agency begins.
