Everyone around the NBA knew the New York Knicks were going to be putrid this season, but the team took their losing ways to another level on Saturday against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.

At halftime, the Knicks trailed the Jazz by 37 points. It was New York's second-largest halftime deficit in the shot clock era:

The best player on the Knicks' roster, power forward Kristaps Porzingis, has yet to play this season as he recovers from an ACL tear he suffered last year. Rookies Kevin Knox and Allonzo Trier have been the lone bright spots for the club this season.

New York is once again headed for the lottery, which might not be a bad thing since Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, and Cam Reddish from Duke will all be there for the taking at the 2019 NBA Draft.

Still, this has to be pretty embarrassing if you are Knicks head coach David Fizdale. It's one thing to lose during a rebuilding season, but to be down by almost 40 points is unacceptable. Fizdale is trying to build a new culture in New York, and games like this don't help that cause. It's going to be interesting to hear what Fizdale has to say during his postgame interview with reporters.
