When players get waived and do not get signed by other teams in the league, their usual path is to play overseas where they can continue to showcase their games in the hopes of generating interest once again from NBA squads. That was exactly what former New York Knicks forward Cleanthony Early had in mind earlier this month when he decided to take his act to the Greek League and play for AEK Athens.

However, things did not go according to plan, and his career in the country only lasted a few days. He had issues with the nutrition he is getting, as the vegan restaurant where he can get enough food to make him perform well during practices was apparently too far from where he was staying. That resulted to him getting stripped of his contract.

Early then posted on his Twitter account the conversation he had with an AEK Athens official, which shows the exchanges they had, which led to his dismissal from the team.

With most team rosters already filled, Early signed with AEK Athens On Sept. 2 and immediately flew to Greece to start his stint with them. After this exchange, the team decided to let him go, and will just look for a new reinforcement instead. The 26-year-old Wichita State product is now a free agent once again and will have to look for a job opening elsewhere.

No statement has been issued by the Greek Club yet after the rant he made on social media, but they are expected to come up with one soon to give their side and address any issues concerning the very short partnership they had with Early.
