The New York Knicks are full of young players, guys who spend their nights doing what they used to do in college, but without the homework to burden them. Whether it’s communicating late in the night with people. Whether it’s reading stuff, watching stuff, playing video games at the end of the night. “I do get concerned with how much rest they get. How it affects reaction time and irritability, things like that. So, yeah. Guys are different. Some guys aren’t really into it like that. Then there’s other guys.”
The trend of video games has been in the league since the early 2000s, from Halo to Call of Duty, Madden, NBA 2K and now Fortnite, as the latest craze to swarm the likes of Luka Doncic and other young players.
Portability has made it translate from a hobby to a downright after-work obsession, as most players pack a PlayStation or Xbox console during road trips to keep themselves entertained when away from home.
Eleven of the 17 players on the Knicks' roster are 25 or younger, making this a craze that can potentially affect the entire roster when teammates game together until long hours of the night.
